Terms & Conditions
These terms apply to your use of the PocketLedger app for Android (the “App”). By installing or using the App you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What the App is
PocketLedger is a personal record-keeping tool for your earnings, expenses, EMIs, loans and charity. It works on your device and can optionally back up an encrypted copy of your data to your own Google Drive. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
2. Licence
You may install and use the App on your own Android devices for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, sell, rent, reverse engineer or redistribute the App, or remove any notices from it, except where the law allows this despite this restriction.
3. Your records and your responsibility
- You decide what to enter. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and for checking the figures the App shows.
- Your data lives on your device. If you lose the device, uninstall the App, erase its data or lose access to your Google account, your records may be lost unless you made a backup.
- Backup and restore depend on your Google account, your Google Drive storage and your internet connection. Backups run on a best-effort schedule that Android may delay. Please check the “last backup” time in Settings → Backup.
- Restoring a backup replaces the data on your phone. The App asks you to confirm first.
- Keep your PIN safe. If you forget it, you can reset the lock by signing in with the Google account used for backup; without that account the App cannot be unlocked and you would have to erase its data.
4. Not financial, tax, legal or religious advice
The App only organises information you provide. It does not give financial, investment, tax, legal or religious advice (including about Zakat or other obligations), and nothing in it should be taken as such. Please consult a qualified professional for decisions that matter.
5. Third-party services
Backup uses Google Sign-In and Google Drive, which are provided by Google under Google's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for those services, including outages, storage limits or changes to them. Android, Google Play and your phone maker's system software may also affect how reminders and background backups run.
6. Availability and changes
We may update, change or stop the App or any feature at any time, and may update these terms. When the terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it.
7. No warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or that it will be uninterrupted or error free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits or opportunity, arising from the use of or inability to use the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. You may delete your local data with Settings → Erase all data and your cloud backup with Settings → Backup. We may suspend or end access to the App if these terms are broken or the law requires it.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and any dispute will be handled by the competent courts there, unless mandatory consumer-protection law where you live says otherwise.
